B.Tech. Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering is an undergraduate Electrical Engineering course. Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism.

The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after the commercialization of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. Electrical engineering may include electronic engineering. Electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, whereas electronic engineering deals with the study of small-scale electronic systems including computers and integrated circuits. The course duration is four years and it provides many job opportunities in the various field.

DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS

The department has an excellent infrastructure to promote a congenial academic environment to impart quality education with well-equipped laboratories and a team of qualified and dedicated faculty members. The department also has adequate skilled and self-motivated technical staff. With the formation of technical University in UP, the syllabus of the branch is tremendously augmented with many advanced courses with focus on the basics of Electrical Electromagnetic Systems, circuit analysis & synthesis, machine analysis & design, control engineering, and in-depth coverage of power systems with the emphasis on above areas. The students’ acquire analytical and practical skills to serve better in industrial, service and research organizational set-ups.

The department offers UG program in Electrical Engineering. It has a plan to start a PG program (M. Tech. in Power System & Power Electronics) and an R & D center to study power systems, Power Electronics and Control Systems along with the application of Information Science in respect of planning, operation and maintenance of Power Systems. The Departmental faculty and staff have created excellent links with industry, reputed academic institutes and research funding agencies and interact with a wide variety of companies ranging from large multinationals to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in areas as diverse as renewable energy, power generation and distribution, advanced medical electronic systems, and nanotechnology. These linkages have helped to create a stimulating learning environment for undergraduate students to become leaders in the field of electrical engineering.
